• The printed meeting notice is also going out by mail. You may vote online or use the paper ballot included with that notice — not both.

The Annual Meeting is Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in The Club at Aliana Ballroom. Quorum is 5 percent of the lots (213).

The ballot cannot be changed. Online voting launched September 24. Names on the ballot stay as printed and as shown in ElectionRunner. Riaz Ali and MarieYon Smith later asked in writing to withdraw. Their names remain on the ballot. If you prefer not to support a withdrawn candidate, do not select that name. The Association will not install a director who has withdrawn.

I am also a member of the Aliana Finance Committee that meets regularly to review and monitor Aliana's finances, making key decisions to secure Aliana's financial future. As a Chief Information Officer at work, I am responsible for IT and Cybersecurity strategy and operations, leading a team of over 35 employees and over 120 contractors

Why running / what they hope to contributeSafety and security continues to be one of my top concerns. Over the last couple of years, thanks to the partnership with the MUD directors and Aliana Management District, I was able to get Flock cameras installed around Aliana. This has been a great deterrent to keep burglars away. However, we seem to have issues with mailbox break-ins now which need to be addressed. 
I am also motivated to continue to grow Aliana's strong financial status. As the Treasurer of the Aliana HOA, I have been directly involved in managing and approving spend. Aliana's operating and reserve cash total over $6M is a testament to strong financial management

Major issues facing Aliana, and ideasRising costs of expenses continue to be an issue that we have to deal with in Aliana. To address this the Board must manage spend smartly and efficiently. While we need to spend money for services needed in Aliana, we have to be mindful of the future and ensure our reserves are being monitored and not being dipped into a lot to meet expenses.

Experience that prepared them to serveAs a leader at work, I am responsible for leading a large number of people to drive IT strategy and operations while staying within budget. 
At the same time, as a current Board member, I have been able to use my leadership skills to drive decisions and communicate efficiently

My name is Cecil Mathew and my family and I have had the privilege of calling Aliana home for the last 5 years. At the same time, as you might be aware, I have the honor of serving on the current Aliana HOA Board as your treasurer for the last two years. 
In the last two years, I have strived hard to ensure Aliana’s Finance stability. Our total cash available is more than $6M. This would not have been achievable if it weren't for strict due diligence, smart spend and of course the support of the rest of the Aliana Board members to whom I am extremely grateful. At the same time, thanks to the strong partnership with the MUD and AMD, Flock cameras were installed

I am a former board member of the Garcia MS PTO and the Garcia MS Band Boosters and a committee chair for the Travis HS Band Booster Club.

Why running / what they hope to contributeWe have some wonderful board members stepping down, and would like to continue the work they have been doing for Aliana.

Major issues facing Aliana, and ideasAliana is a great community, so my main interest is keeping it that way. I feel it is important to maintain all our beautiful green spaces, but also make sure the residents do their part by following the rules and regulations which should be clear and easily accessible. We should make sound decisions when it comes to spending, and stick to the budget, even though that will mean saying no to certain things.

As a representative I have attended most board meetings the last few years, and a lot of MUD meetings as well. Due to my volunteer work at the schools and my work as a crossing guard in the community I feel like I am well aware of issues in the community. My knowledge will hopefully help me make the right decisions for Aliana.

We are originally from the Netherlands, but have also lived in India and Brazil. The diverse community in Aliana fits us perfectly! Our children all attend or have attended our zoned schools (two are now in college) and I continue to volunteer at their school regularly. Due to our expat life I have been a stay at home mom for a long time, but a few years ago I started working as a Crossing Guard for Fort Bend ISD, and have worked several years in front of Madden. If you live in Windsor you may recognize my name, I have been your neighborhood representative for 5 years.

WIll work reducing HOA cost to reduce burden to members. I am also a PPL Engineer in OIl and Gas industry so know very well what are the limitations of the working professional and know how to involve them HOA activities

This experience has given me a practical understanding of property values, market conditions, maintenance concerns, contracts, homeowner priorities, and the importance of protecting long-term investments. I understand that strong community standards and responsible HOA management play a vital role in preserving both the quality of life and property values in Aliana.
I am also a PhD-trained engineer and Professional Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, where accountability, disciplined financial management, risk assessment, problem-solving, safety, and responsible leadership are essential. I bring a proven ability to analyze complex issues, evaluate options carefully, make informed decisions, and follow through—skills that are directly relevant to effective HOA governance.

I am running for the Aliana Homeowners Association Board because I am prepared to provide the thoughtful, transparent, and accountable leadership our community deserves. My priorities are to protect Aliana’s property values, maintain our community’s high standards, promote fiscal responsibility, support effective maintenance and planning, and ensure homeowners’ concerns are heard and addressed fairly and respectfully.

Major issues facing Aliana, and ideasResidents complain of too much inference in their private lives by HOA administrators. There should be mechanism to listen to genuine complaints of residents and amicably resolve these issues.

He has served in various capacities for both professional and community-based organizations. He is currently the president of a sub-unit of one of the largest socio-cultural organizations in Houston called ORA-HOUSTON. Dr. Clifford Iroanya believes in giving back through service. His vision is to see a properly-managed HOA that will satisfy the needs of its members. He is married with four children.

The first is the overall condition and upkeep of the neighborhood. As the community continues to age, we need a more proactive approach to maintenance, landscaping standards, and long‑term planning for shared spaces. My goal is to help strengthen oversight, improve communication with residents, and ensure that our neighborhood continues to reflect the high standards Aliana is known for.

Another key issue is the quality and availability of sports and recreational facilities. These amenities are central to community life, but many residents feel they could be better maintained, expanded, or modernized. I would like to push for a structured review of all facilities, gather resident feedback, and prioritize upgrades that increase usage, safety, and family‑friendly value.

Finally, I see a growing concern around fines, enforcement, and HOA policy transparency. Homeowners want consistency and fairness — not surprises. As Aliana continues to grow and mature, I believe it is important to have Board members who are willing to listen to residents, look at issues objectively, and make decisions based on what is best for the community as a whole. I want to contribute a practical, business-minded perspective while remaining focused on the quality of life and interests of our homeowners.

I am particularly interested in responsible financial management, maintaining our community’s appearance and amenities, protecting property values, and improving communication between the HOA and residents. I believe we should be proactive about long-term maintenance and planning rather than simply addressing problems after they arise.

I also believe a strong HOA should be fair, consistent, transparent, and reasonable in how it operates and enforces community standards. Homeowners should feel that their concerns are heard and that decisions are being made thoughtfully and consistently.

Ultimately, I am running because I want to contribute my time, leadership experience, and perspective to help keep Aliana a community we can all be proud of. My goal is not to change Aliana’s identity, but to help protect what makes it special while making thoughtful improvements for the future.

Major issues facing Aliana, and ideasI believe one of the biggest challenges facing Aliana in the coming years will be maintaining the high standards that made this community such a desirable place to live, while responsibly managing the challenges that come with a growing and maturing community.

First, I believe we need to remain proactive about maintaining our common areas, landscaping, amenities, streetscapes, and overall appearance. As our community ages, maintenance and long-term capital planning become increasingly important. I would like to see the HOA take a proactive approach rather than waiting for problems to become expensive repairs.

Second, protecting property values should remain a major priority. That means maintaining consistent community standards while also making sure HOA policies are applied fairly and reasonably to everyone. I believe enforcement should be consistent, transparent, and focused on preserving the character of the community—not simply issuing violations.

Third, I believe financial responsibility will become increasingly important. With a large community and significant amenities, we need to make sure HOA funds are being spent wisely, contracts are competitive, and long-term maintenance and reserve needs are properly planned for. I would support greater transparency so homeowners understand where their HOA dollars are going.

Finally, I believe communication between homeowners and the HOA can always be improved. Residents should feel that their concerns are heard and that the Board is accessible and accountable. My goal would be to help create a Board that listens to residents, makes decisions based on facts and the long-term interests of Aliana, and communicates those decisions clearly.

Ultimately, I want to help ensure Aliana remains a community that people are proud to call home—not only today, but 10, 20, and 30 years from now.

I am not running because I think Aliana needs to be completely changed. I am running because I believe what we have is worth protecting, and I want to help make sure Aliana continues to be one of the best communities in the area for years to come.
